Volunteer Airdrie encourages and
supports volunteerism in Airdrie and surrounding area by supporting local
organizations and their volunteers that make a positive impact in the areas of human
and social services, education, arts, culture, sports, recreation, health care,
faith-based, environment and others. Corporate volunteerism is also a
vital part of our community and we support business in their volunteer
involvement.
Our goal is to include on our Community Directory EVERY organization that contributes to the "good of the Airdrie community” and makes it a wonderful place to live. Eligibility for the Community Directory Not-for-profit organizations, ad hoc groups and businesses in Airdrie and surrounding area that organize activities, events or projects for the "good of the community” are eligible to register for the Community Directory and receive the following programs and services:

Website posting of volunteer
opportunities;
·
Promotion of organization
through the Community Directory;
·
E-newsletter
with information about current trends and issues in volunteerism; and
·
Volunteer
related training and professional development. Once
registered for the Community Directory, not-for-profit organizations in Airdrie
and surrounding area that have Registered Charitable Status in Canada or are
incorporated with Alberta Consumer and Corporate Affairs under the Societies
Act are eligible for the following additional programs and services:
· Savings on monthly advertising in local newspapers;
·
Networking through
the Volunteer Management Support Group; and
· Online Access to the Canadian Journal of Volunteer Resources Management (CJVRM). Conditions to the Community Directory
There is no cost to participate in the Community Directory but registration with Volunteer Airdrie is required.
The "good of the community”
will be determined by Volunteer Airdrie on a case-by-case basis.
